EUNICE- It is with heavy hearts that the family of Dorothy Smith Troha announces her passing on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Lafayette General at the age of 91. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at (time pending) on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Dorothy was a homemaker whose biggest joy was her family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her sons, Floyd F. Troha, Jr. and wife, Maudry of Ragley, and Donald G. Troha and wife, Christine of Houston, TX; daughters, Cheryl Jo Caffalette of Davie, FL, and Kathleen T. Derbes and husband, Charles Derbes, Jr. of McKinney, TX; sisters, Ruby Young, and Mary Guillory and husband, Harry, all of Eunice; sister-in-law, Ethel Smith of Eunice; five grandchildren, Crystal Wilds, Denise Phillips, Leslie Donovan, Eric Derbes and Brett Derbes; five great grandchildren, Christina, Brittany, Shannon, Zoe Beth, and Alex; one great-great grandchild, Adilynn; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd F. Troha, Sr.; brothers, Calvin and Berkman Smith; sister, Patsy Guillory; son-in-law, Jim Caffalette; brother-in-laws, Gil Young and Robert Guillory; and sister-in-law, Joyce Smith.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, December 29th from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again on Saturday, December 30th from 8:00 am until time of services.
