EUNICE-It is with heavy hearts that the family of Dot Vidrine announces her passing on Monday, August 16, 2021, at her home with loving family by her side at the age of 85. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice. Burial will follow in the Ashford Cemetery with Father Blaine Clement, officiating.
Therisa, known as “Dot” by all who knew and loved her, was the owner of Vidrine’s Gift and Record Shop for many years. She enjoyed playing Wahoo, quilting, sewing, directing pageants and making pageant dresses, cooking, and going to the casino. Dot loved music, shopping, and drinking Cokes. She especially enjoyed cooking daily lunches for the family and her kitchen doors were always open. She will be missed dearly by all, especially her husband of 66 years, Floyd Vidrine of Eunice; her children, Joanna V. DeBarge and husband, Jason, Glenn Vidrine, and Bryan Vidrine, all of Eunice; seven grandchildren, Hollie McAtee and husband, Anthony, Jamie Vidrine, Chad Faul and wife, Kyla, Brandon Vidrine and wife, Stephanie, Richland Vidrine and husband, Eric Robinson, Blaise Vidrine, and Laynee Jo Miller and husband, Jade; step grandchildren, Miranda Fuselier and husband, Kelly, Brodie Istre and wife, Chanda, and Matthew Myers; great grandchildren, Slate Robinson, Conner McAtee, Jack Vidrine, Hayden Lane McAtee, Kase Robinson, Marlee Kaye Faul, Wes Holford, Brenlee Toups, and one on the way; Houston Miller; step great grandchildren, Baby boy Fuselier, Grayson Istre, Laiklyn, Elizabeth, and Haisely Istre; as well as extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Olin and Bernadette Godeaux Miller; siblings, Lorena Soileau, Versa Brown, Zula Godeaux, Mary Fuselier, Oasmin “Boy” Miller, Clarence Miller, and Eldridge Miller.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Wednesday, August 18 from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m., and again on Thursday, August 19 from 8 a.m. until time of services. Deacon Chuck Ortego will pray a rosary at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
