EUNICE~It is with heavy hearts that the family of Earl Adley Roger announces his passing on Thursday, March 29, 2018 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family. He was 89. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 03, 2018 at St. Thomas Chapel. Entombment will follow in the St. Paul Mausoleum with Father Wayne Duet Celebrant.
Earl proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War in the 112th Infantry stationed in Germany. He retired from the Eunice Gas Department after serving 35 years and 10 months of service. He began employment with the gas department as a meter reader, progressed to service man and ultimately became manager of the department. After retirement he worked part time at City Auto Supply and Peart Enterprise. He was a handyman who loved camping, hunting, going to the casino and had a loved for animals. He was a wonderful father, brother and grandfather and loved nothing more than spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be missed each and every day. He leaves behind his three daughters, Debra Roger Johnson and husband, Craig of Eunice, Rhonda Roger Dietz and husband, Tim of Montgomery, TX, and Gina Roger Lagrange and husband, Chad of Eunice; two sisters, Eula Borne of Reserve and Quida Faucheaux of Lutcher; his six grandchildren, Jason Johnson, Kristi McLeish, Philip and Angela Dietz, Elizabeth and Lauren Mire; two step grandchildren, Kayla and Maci Lagrange; one great grandson, Jaxx Johnson; one step great granddaughter, Gianna Lagrange; as well extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife of fifty eight years, Ethel Roger; his parents, Leo and Hellen Clement Roger; granddaughter, Kayla Johnson; brothers, Malvin, Algi and Milton Roger; sisters, Earline Gaubert, Ruby Richard, Doris Bourgeois and Florence Pitre.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Monday, April 2nd from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm and on Tuesday, April 3rd at St. Thomas Chapel from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Gary Gaudin will recite a Rosary at 6:00 pm on Monday.
