MAMOU-Funeral Services will be held at a 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou on Friday, August 16, 2019, for Edius Hebert, Jr., 85, who passed away on Monday, August 12, 2019 in Mamou, LA surrounded by his loved ones.
Father Billy Massie, Pastor of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the mass and will conduct all funeral services.
Burial will take place New St. Ann’s Cemetery.
Edius Hebert, Jr. was born on July 7, 1934 to Edius Hebert, Sr. and Luicia Pierrotti Hebert. He worked as an appliance repairman with Sears for over 30 years. Edius loved to help his friends on the farm every weekend. He enjoyed watching western movies; especially Lonesome Dove and buying each one of his nephew’s cowboy boots every year for Christmas. Edius was known for taking in stray cats and dogs. At one time he had 25 cats. His friends and family will miss his dearly.
He is survived by his sister, Joann Smith and husband Jerry of College Station, TX. nephews, Kenneth, Mike, Mitch, Keith, John and James; nieces, Barbara, Denise and Shirley; 10 great nephews; and 8 great nieces.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edius Hebert, Sr. and Lucia Pierrotti Hebert; and sister Aczena Mills.
The family requests that visitation be observed at St. Ann’s Catholic Church on Friday, August 16, 2019 from 10:00 AM until time of service.
