It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Ella Daigle Cheeks, a native of Eunice, Louisiana and a resident of Thomaston, Georgia, passed away at her residence, October 12, 2024.
She was a 1963 graduate of Charles Drew High School and attended Southern University. She graduated from T H Harris.
She was the first Black Miss Yambilee crowned for 1960-1961.
