Elward James "Jay" Fontenot passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at the age of 85.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018, at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church
in Eunice. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Fr. Matt Hebert will officiate.
At the request of the family visitation will begin on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Quirk and
Son Funeral Home in Eunice. A rosary will be prayed on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at 7:00 PM.
Deacon Gary Gaudin will officiate.
Elward is survived by his companion, Ann Magee, two sons; Randy Fontenot and wife Lola of Mamou,
James Robin and wife Shannon, one daughter, Patti Garbarino, five grandchildren; Katelyn Laughlin,
Maggie Fontenot, Sara Fontenot, Nick Garbarino, Doug Garbarino
Elward was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert Fontenot and Lillie Soileau Fontenot, one brother,
Harold Fontenot.
Quirk and Son Funeral Home in Eunice is in charge of the arrangements.
