EUNICE–On Saturday, July 31, 2021, God called Emery to his eternal rest. He was born to the late Lester Guillory, Sr. and Marie Felecie Guillory on September 10, 1960 in Chataignier, LA. Emery was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church and was also a member of the Knights of Peter Claver. Emery served 46 years of his life as a farmer. He had a strong work ethic and believed in hard work. He was a sweet, caring man, a loving father and grandfather, and a great friend to all. He was always willing to help someone in need. Although he worked hard, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his grandkids. He lived his life to the fullest, not wasting a minute.
Cherishing Emery’s memories are his one daughter, Tiffany (Jonathan, Sr.) Belton of Basile, LA; his one son, Keith (Skylar) Guillory of Church Point, LA; the mother of his children, life-long friend, Mary Murphy of Basile, LA; eight grandchildren, Tyler, Kaison, Keith Elliot, Gavin, Jonathan, Jr., Colin, Gabrielle, and Kiera; two brothers, Lawrence (Tonya) Guillory of Lake Charles, LA, and Gerald (Commellia) Guillory of Eunice, LA; four sisters, Charlene (Bertman) Papillion of Swords, LA, Genevieve (James) Lavergne, Judy Guillory, and Isabelle Guillory, all of Chataignier, LA; one Godchild, Angelina Lavergne of Chataignier, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Marie Felecie Guillory and Lester Guillory, Sr.; five brothers, Richard Guillory, Lester Guillory, Jr., John Willis Guillory, Sr., Simon Guillory, and Davis Guillory; one brother in law, Thaddeus Guillory; and one nephew, James Lavergne, Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mallet. Burial will follow in the St. Ann Catholic Cemetery with Father Stanley Jawa, SVD, Celebrant.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, August 6 from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. on Friday by Judy Guillory.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness…” 2 Timothy 4:7.
