EUNICE–Our hearts are filled with sorrow as the family announces the sudden passing of their beloved mom, grandmother, sister and friend, Eva “Flo” Bertrand on Monday, November 8, 2021, at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice. She was 71.
A Celebration of Flo’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 14, 2021, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Flo was born in Eunice on June 3, 1950, to L.C. and Vina Mae Faul Courville. There are no words to describe Flo.
She was a woman of great honor, big hearted, and always giving. She was a one-in-a million kind of woman. She was an excellent caregiver who was devoted to her work and everyone she worked for said she was a special angel sent to them, especially to Monique Rozas. They shared a special bond with each other.
She enjoyed gardening, was proud of her flowers, loved cooking for her family and friends, and making people happy with her food. Flo was the backbone and strength of the family. She was very supportive and always there for her daughter and son-in-law. She loved her family and was an exceptional mother to her daughter and her two grandchildren, they were the apple of her eye. There will always be a place in our hearts for her.
She will be greatly missed by everyone she touched. Heaven’s gain is our loss. Flo leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Robert Gaspard of Eunice; “Nana’s babies”, Michael Hunter Gaspard and Lindsey Brooke Gaspard, both of Eunice; brother, Rick Courville and wife, Kathy of Eunice; sisters, Jeannie Alben and husband, Tom of Scottsdale, AZ, Yvonne Vasseur of Eunice and Mona Wickiser and husband, Dr. Dan Wickiser of Sulphur; as well as extended family and many dear friends.
Now she rests in heaven with the love of her life her husband, John Hugh Bertrand; parents and a brother-in-law, Ferdie Vasseur.
At the request of family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Saturday, November 13 from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. and again on Sunday, November 14 from 10 a.m. until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
