EUNICE~It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Eve Benoit announces his passing on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at his home at the age of 90. A Celebration of Life was celebrated at 10:00am on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Ardoin's Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Deacon Chuck Ortego officiating.
Eve was a retired welder and was known as a hardworking and honest man who could fix anything. His passing was a sudden and unexpected loss for his family and friends. He was a wonderful father and grandfather and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him especially his daughter, Welaine A. Benoit of Eunice; his three grandchildren, Amanda A. Duplechain, Eric R. Duplechain and Michael J. Chaumont all of Eunice; his five great grandchildren, Jacob, Anna and Sarah Duplechain, Audry and Madeline Chaumont; as well as extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife of seventy years, Monita Savoy Benoit; his parents, John and Armina Faul Benoit; three brothers, Emery, Charlie and Paul Benoit; five sisters, Louise Bodin, Isabelle Daigle, Dorothy Rozas, Virginia Duplechain and Genieve Watson.
At the request of the family, visitation was held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, November 25th from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Saturday, November 26th from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Gary Gaudin recited a Rosary at 6:00 pm Friday.
