EUNICE~Felix Louis Johnson "Cooney" age 86 passed away peacefully on Monday March 13, 2018 at Our Lady of Lourdes surrounded by his family and friends. He was a loving husband, devoted father and fun grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Rita L. Johnson of 69 years who was the love of his life; his daughter, Judy Johnson Salemi and husband, Charles; sister Hilda Stahl; seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. He enjoyed listening to Cajun music, fishing and outdoors. He retired as an operator of pipeline Local 406 after 69 years of hard work and dedication.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Aline and Marcel Johnson; siblings, Melkey, Armond, Claude, Cyprion, Curley, Joseph “Jo”, Armous, Rose and Marilyn Johnson; son, Ronald Johnson; and grandson, Ted Johnson. A Celebration of Life will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home on Friday, March 16, 2018 from 10:00 am until 8:00pm, and again on Saturday from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon David Guillory will recite a Rosary at 7:00 pm Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1011 Sittig St., Eunice, LA 70535. Interment will follow on the grounds of St. Paul Cemetery with Father Sensat Celebrant. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
