RAYNE - Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at a 2:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne for Gerald "Jerry" Tanner, Sr., 74, who died Sunday January 20, 2019 at The Ellington Nursing Home in Rayne LA.
Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2 in Rayne, LA.
Rev. Kevin Bordelon, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Charlotte Ousse Tanner of Rayne, son, Chad S. Tanner of Duson, two grandsons, Brian Tanner of Duson, Brent Tanner and spouse Loretta of Lafayette, great grandson, Holden J. Tanner of Duson, sister-in-law, Kathryn Dupuis and spouse Lee of Baton Rouge, two brothers-in-law, Donnie Ousse and spouse Bonnie of Rayne, Jim Ousse and spouse Lisa of Rayne.
He was preceded in death by son, Gerald Joseph "J.J." Tanner, Jr., father, Lawrence Tanner, mother, Elvena Mendoza Tanner, two brothers, Vernon Tanner, Jimmie Dale Tanner, his in laws, D.L. Ousse and Lula Mae Hains Ousse.
Pallbearers will be Brian Tanner, Brent Tanner, Johnny Beese, Jim Ousse, Charles Dupuis, Robert Ousse. Honorary Pallbearer will be his son, Chad S. Tanner.
A Rosary will be prayed Monday, January 21, 2019 at 7:00 pm in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne LA.
The family requests that visitation be observed in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne LA on Monday January 21, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Tuesday January 22, 2019 from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm.
