EUNICE-It is with heavy hearts that the children of Gwen Pitre LaFleur announce her passing on Monday, March 30, 2020 at Opelousas General Hospital at the age of 70. A private graveside service will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Gwen and her husband, Kenneth, were the founders, owners, and operators of Acadiana Wrecker Service in Eunice since 1975.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many, especially her two sons, David LaFleur and Blake LaFleur and wife, Jodi, all of Eunice; daughter, Keran LaFleur Richardson and husband, Jon of Scott; sisters, Angie Pitre Cart and husband, Carl, and Beth Savoy, all of Eunice; seven grandchildren, Toby McGee, Phillip LaFleur, Courtney LaFleur Istre; Ashley LaFleur, Scott LaFleur, Tyler Cormier, and Lainey Cormier; five great grandchildren, Ayla Guidroz, Gage McGee, William Istre, Charlotte Istre, and Oliver Istre; as well as extended family and friends.
Gwen is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, Kenneth LaFleur; and her parents, John and Antoinette Wilfret Pitre.
A Celebration of Life may be held at a later time to commemorate her life.
