A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Edward Catholic Church in Richard for Henry A. Prather, 92, who passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 10:10 A.M. at the Eunice Manor nursing home in Eunice.
Fr. Wayne Duet, Pastor of St. Edward Catholic Church in Richard will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in the St. Edward Catholic Church Cemetery in Richard.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Monday, May 27, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point. A Rosary will be recited at 6 o’clock in the evening on Monday in the Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will resume on Tuesday at 8:00 A.M. until time of services.
Survivors include his three sons, Pat and wife, Theresa Prather of Richard; Charles and wife, Yvette Prather of Church Point and Robert and wife, Debbie Prather of Eunice; one brother, James “Jimmy” and wife, Barbara Prather of Church Point; one sister, Mary Lou Vallot of Lake Charles; five grandchildren, Blaise and wife, Wendy Prather of Richard, Megan and husband, Blaise Treadway of Richard, Rachelle and husband, Tracy Babineaux of Eunice, Monique and husband, Don Harrington of Church Point and Michael and wife, Lisa Prather of Scott; two step granddaughters, Leigh Ann Vidrine of North Carolina and Lindsey Ortego of Richard; ten great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Mr. Prather was preceded in death by his wife, Hermance Prather; his parents, Albert and Louisa A. Prather; one grandson, Mitchell Prather; two great-grandsons, Brandon and Justin Rayon.
Pallbearers for the service will be Pat, Charles, Robert, Blaise, Michael and Jimmy Prather and Tyler Rayon. Honorary Pallbearers for the service will be Chris, Kevin, Zachary Prather, Blaise Treadway, and Nicholas Babineaux.
