EUNICE~It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of their beloved father, brother, grandfather and friend, James Thibodeaux, on February 20, 2021 at the age of 71. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Father Sensat Celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Thomas More Cemetery.
James, known as Doc by all who knew and loved him, loved to fish, hunt, and ride four wheelers. He especially enjoyed Mardi Gras, but most of all he loved his family including three wonderful daughters, Tracy Vidrine and husband, Wayne of Turkey Creek, Dana Marcantel and husband, Chris of Lumberton, TX and Donna Clark and husband, Rex of Oakdale; brother, John Timothy Thibodeaux and wife, Lisa of Church Point; nine grandchildren, Brennon, Kristin and Devon Vidrine, Brett and Kyle Marcantel, Brittany, Jada, Brooklyn and Jessica Clark; and one great grandchild, Kainen Causey; as well as extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Thibodeaux; parents, Howard and Irona Sebastian Thibodeaux; and brother, Wayne Thibodeaux.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Tuesday, February 23 from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. and again on Wednesday, February 24 from 8 a.m. until time of services. Deacon Gary Gaudin will recite a Rosary at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
