EUNICE~It is with the heaviest hearts that the family of Jeanne G. Fontenot announces her passing on Thursday, December 08, 2016 in the comfort of her home with loving family by her side. She was 86. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Burial will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery with Msgr. Romero Celebrant.
Jeanne was a dedicated parishioner of St. Anthony Catholic Church. She loved tennis, exercising, fishing, gardening, traveling, watching old movies and watching sports especially LSU. She was very involved with her family and faith. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She will be missed dearly by everyone who knew and loved her especially her four children, Dan Fontenot and wife, Marcia of Eunice, Faith Fontenot Cain and husband, Larry Kingwood, TX, Tim Fontenot and wife, Cecilia of Eunice, David Fontenot and wife, Nancy of Lafayette; her sister, June Strait and husband, Bill of Beaumont, TX; the eleven joys of her life her grandchildren, Jessica Fontenot, Andre' Fontenot, Joey Fontenot, Ben Fontenot, John Cain, Erin Cain, Tim S. Fontenot, Drew Fontenot, Alex Fontenot, Vivian Fontenot and Olivia Fontenot; ten great grandchildren, Sophie, Westin, Cora Leigh, Andrew, Weller, Trip, Vivian, Camille, Isabelle and one due on the 21st of December; as well as extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, R.P. Fontenot, her parents, Clayton and Margaret "Lula" Bertrand Guilbeau; brothers, C.J. and Wray Guilbeau; sister, Inez Miller; grandson, Timothy Paul Fontenot; and granddaughter, Ann Fontenot.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, December 9th from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm with rosary at 7:00 pm.
