EUNICE~It is with heavy hearts that the family of John Burke Duplechain announces his sudden passing on Monday, February 12, 2018 at Jennings American Legion Hospital at the age of 87. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice. Entombment will follow in the St. Paul Mausoleum.
John proudly served in the United States Army. He retired from Cleco and was an avid hunter. John will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. Left to cherish his memory in his loving and devoted wife of 66 years, Eleanor Belleau Duplechain of Eunice; his two children, Marcus Duplechain and wife, Renee and Vicki Cormier and husband, Chad all of Eunice; his five grandchildren, Brandi Daigle and husband, Brad, Jennifer Sonnier and husband, Corie, Rhett Bergeron and wife, Amber, Casey Bergeron and wife, Lilly and Tristan Cormier; eleven great grandchildren as well as extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dozey and Beulah Berzas Duplechain; brother, Raymond Duplechain and a sister, Deulah Duplechain.
At the request of the family, visitation will begin on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 10:00 am until time of services.
