IOTA-It is with the heavy hearts that the family of John D. Fontenot announces his passing on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at the age of 59 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Iota. Burial will follow in the Millerville Cemetery with Chaplain Paul Broussard officiating.
John enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family, especially with his nieces and nephews. He was a giving and loving son, brother, uncle and friend and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him especially his mother, Louanna Deshotel of Tee Mamou; sisters, Jennifer Hebert and husband, George of Evangeline and Sheryl Myers and companion, Chad of Duson; nieces and nephew, Jessica Koula, Rebecca Hebert, Sarah Hebert, Adrienne Myers, and Phillip Myers; numerous great nieces and nephews, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Eldon Fontenot; and step-father, Felton Deshotel.
At the request of the family, visitation will take place on Wednesday, June 10 from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m., and again on Thursday, June 11 from 8 a.m. until time of services.
