BASILE-It is with heavy hearts that the family of Jonathan Fruge announces his passing on Sunday, August 18, 2019 at his home at the age of 43. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Basile. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice with Deacon Gary Gaudin officiating.
Jonathan loved sports, especially college football and drag racing. He went to Baytown every year in April to watch the drag races. Jonathan was a devoted husband, sweetheart of a son, and a loving, kind hearted, soft spoken, gentle man. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him especially his wife of twelve years, Michelle Fruge of Lake Charles; parents, Dianne S. and Jim Young of Basile; sisters, Prudence F. Menier and husband, Patrick and their children Samuel and P.J. of Coden, AL and Amelia Fruge and her daughter, Lillian of Basile; in-laws, Bobby and Barbara Girard of Cankton; brother in-law, Bobby Hebert of Cankton; sister in-law, Adrienne Venable and husband, Koby and their children Kameron and Jenna Claire of Arnaudville; and his canine little girl, River; as well as extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, John Ferrel Fruge.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Basile on Wednesday, August 21st from 12:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Thursday, August 22nd from 10:00am am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited by Deacon Gary Gaudin at 6:00pm on Wednesday.
