BASILE-It is with heavy hearts that the family of Joseph “J.B.” Miller announces his passing on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 Our Lady of Lourdes in Lafayette at the age of 81. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Basile. Burial will follow in the St. Augustine Cemetery with Deacon Gary Gaudin officiating.
Joseph, known as J.B to all, enjoyed fishing, gardening, and Cajun dancing. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him especially his three sons, Teddy Miller of Nunez, Darrell Miller, and Jason Miller and wife, Crystal, all of Jennings; his daughter, Samantha Miller Guidroz and husband, Keith of Lafayette; brother, James Miller of Jennings; two sisters, Marie Courville of Katy, TX and Julie Doucet of Sulphur; five grandchildren, Brittany, Brooke, Tiffany, Morgan, and Jaci; six grandchildren, Bently, Maddy, Layne, Owen, Ryder, and Evelyn; and his special companion, Darlene Ryder of Lafayette; as well as extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Roseline Miller; parents, Lezime and Armance Thibodeaux Miller; and sister, Belle LaFleur.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Basile on Friday, June 14th from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Saturday, June 15th from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited by Deacon Gary Gaudin at 6:30pm on Friday.
