It is with great sadness that the family of Jurley Jack Andrus announces her passing on Friday, August 23, at 3:32 a.m. at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice. She was 96.
A celebration of life will be celebrated on Saturday, August 31 at 11 a.m. at Greater True Light Baptist Church in Eunice.
Interment will be at St. James Baptist Church Cemetery in Chicot with Pastor John A. Kenney Jr. of Christ First Baptist Church of Compton, California.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 31 from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Greater True Light Baptist Church in Eunice.
Jurley was known for her membership in her church, visiting other churches, visiting the sick, sewing, cooking, baking and spending time with her family and friends.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her sons Moses Andrus of Eunice, Bervick L. Andrus (Tina) of Eunice, Michael Andrus of Lake Charles, and Steven Andrus of Beaumont, Texas; her daughters, Orelia Lonnett of Eunice, Daisie M. Kenney of Corona, California; Merdis Hughes of Ontario, California; Oralee Andrus of Opelousas, Geraldine A. Crum (Bill) of Carson, California; Joyce M. Andrus, Annabell Andrus Godfrey, and Linda A. Allison, all of Eunice; 40 grandchilren, 71 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, two daughters, three sons, two sisters, two brothers, four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Pall bearers will be Darrel Rougeau, Conrad Andrus, Derrick Jones, Calvin Williams, Sherman Andrus and Jeremiah Moore.
Frank Brothers Funeral Home in Eunice is in charge of all arrangements.
