Eunice-With heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Lessie Lee Fontenot on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at the age of 90, from Eunice Manor Nursing Home.
Born in Mamou and lived most of his life in Eunice, he retired from Halliburton Services after 32 years of service.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to volunteer at his church.
Due to Lessie donating his body to science for medical advancement, a celebration of his life memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church on Saturday, March 16th at 11:00 a.m.
Preceded in death by his parents Isom and Emily Fontenot and grandson Brandon Kilburn.
He leaves behind his wife of 72 years Betty Savant Fontenot, three sons, all of Eunice: Sonny Fontenot and wife Sandra, Russell Glen Fontenot and wife Carol, Kerry Fontenot and wife Fran, two daughters, Linda Fontenot Wheeler of Lafayette and Sussie Fontenot Rozas and husband Blaine of Lacombe, 10 grandchildren, Rusty and Steven Fontenot, Blake and Lori Fontenot, Kyle Hintze, Beth Hintze Ryan, Erica Hintze Trahan, Krystin Kilburn Beach, Danielle Fontenot Turner and Aungelle Fontenot Vidrine, five brothers, Lionel Fontenot and wife Rose of Houma, Edrick and wife Betty Fontenot of Kinder, Edward Fontenot of Kinder, Melvin “Bob” and wife Lena Fontenot of New Boston Texas, Donald and wife Penny Fontenot of Magnolia, Texas and one sister Edwina “Sis” Andrepont of Eunice, numerous great-and great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He will be greatly missed by all of his family and many friends.
