Lucy Audrey Biessenberger "nee Latour"

It is with heavy hearts we share the peaceful passing of Lucy “Audrey” Biessenberger, nee Latour, on Tuesday, August 28, at her home in Lafayette.
She was born on February 17, 1936 in Ville Platte, Louisiana to Gerald and Leona Latour. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart Catholic School of Ville Platte. She taught first grade at St. Edmund Catholic School where she remained for 32 years.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Rayford Biessenberger; her four sisters and brother, Beverly Latour Mason, Norma Calloway, Leona “Lee” and Jerry Mayeux, and David Latour, her five sons, Scott and wife Nadine, Craig and wife Livia, Douglas and wife Lora, Mitchell and wife Pam, and Erich and wife Annie, sixteen grandchildren, and twenty-four great-grand-children, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Gerald and Leona, sisters Genevieve “Jenny” Howerton and Geraldine “Peewee” Fontenot, and brother Arthur “Buddy” Latour.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Fr. Matt Hebert will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Thomas More Cemetery in Eunice. A rosary will be prayed at 9:30 AM by Deacon Gary Gaudin. At the request of the family visitation will begin at 9:00 AM at St. Anthony Catholic Church until time of services.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests contributions be made in Audrey’s honor to the St. Edmund Catholic School Monsignor Harry Benefiel Foundation.
