Catahoula – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 14, 2018, at St. Rita Catholic Church for Mark Jude Frederick, 48, who passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2018.
Visiting hours were observed at Dion Hall in Catahoula from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Thursday and continued on Friday at 6 a.m. until 10:40 a.m.
A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
Rev. Richard Fabre officiated at the Funeral Mass. Readers were Emma Frederick and Tori Frederick. Gift Bearers were Hannah Bourque and Falon Frederick.
Interment followed at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula.
Mr. Frederick was a police officer with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office, Breaux Bridge Police Department, St. Martinville Police Department and the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was a collector of taxidermy.
He is survived by his parents, Lenny and Rita Rodriguez Frederick of Catahoula; daughters, Hannah Bourque of Lafayette, Taylor Frederick and Kamryn Frederick, both of Catahoula; brothers, Corey Frederick and wife Dawn, and Ryan Frederick, all of Catahoula; nieces, Falon Frederick and Tori Frederick, both of Catahoula; niece and Godchild, Emma Frederick of Catahoula; and nephew, Rylan Frederick of Catahoula.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Elus and Emelie Frederick; maternal grandparents, Lucien and Amelia Rodriguez; and his aunt, Lou Anna Rodriguez.
Pallbearers were Corey Frederick, Ryan Frederick, Rylan Frederick, Stuart Frederick, Shannon Savoie and Marty Gaspard.
Honorary pallbearers were Clayton Pete Latiolais and Frank Borel.
Pellerin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
