EUNICE~ The family announces with heavy hearts the passing of Martha Prudhomme on Wednesday, January 10, 2017 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette with loving family by her side. She was 78. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at St. Thomas More Catholic in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Thomas More Cemetery with Father Matthew Hebert Celebrant.
Martha was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of the family. She enjoyed gardening, dancing and living her strong Christian faith. She left a legacy of a loving family and a lifetime of love and inspiration to her family. Martha was devoted wife of 60 years to Red Prudhomme of Eunice; a loving mother to four children, Sammy Prudhomme and wife, Paula of Eunice, Joey Prudhomme and wife, Christina of Lawtell, Rainnie Bell and husband, Bryan of Broussard and Sherry Smith and husband, Barry of Eunice; two sisters, Brenda Melvin of Jena and Billie Bowdoin and husband, James of Norfolk, Virginia; a cherished grandmother to twelve grandchildren, Josh, Brian David, Ben, Jessi, Brett, Kiley, Fallon, Ferren, Spenser, Sage, Matthew and Courtney and thirteen great grandchildren; her canine companion, Jolee’; as well as extended family and friends. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Odelia Daigle Argeron; son, Roland J. Prudhomme, II and a sister, Donna Scully Boutwell.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, January 12th from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Saturday, January 13th from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon David Guillory will recite a Rosary at 6:00 pm Friday.
