EUNICE–It is with the heavy hearts that the family of Mary Sybil J. Arabie announces her passing on Monday, January 3, 2022, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette at the age of 79. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at (time pending) on Friday, January 7, 2022, at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Mary was the owner of Sybil’s Tax Service in Eunice for many years. She was a devout Catholic, loved to cook for people, and make floral arrangements. Memories of her will be cherished by all, especially by her siblings, John Bedford Jeanis and wife, Cathy of Church Point, Shirley LeBeouf of Moss Bluff, Jean Neal and husband, Harney of Duson, Kathy Duhon of Eunice, Diana Pedigo and husband, Curtis of Church Point, and Debra Sharp and husband, Joe of Forest, MS; her only grandson, Marshall Arabie, Jr. and wife, Melanie of Eunice; two great grandchildren, Nolan Blayde Arabie and Aubrielle Marie Arabie; as well as extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jean Duplex Arabie; son, Jean Marshall Arabie; and parents, Houston and Mary Matte Jeanis.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Thursday, January 6 from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. and again on Friday, January 7 from 8 a.m. until time of services. Deacon Gary Gaudin will pray a Rosary at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
