OPELOUSAS~Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, July 7, 2017 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Mallet, LA, for Mrs. Mary Victoria Douresseau, 77, who entered eternal rest, Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Lafayette General Medical Center after a long illness.
Interment will be in Zion Traveler Baptist Cemetery in Mallet, LA. Rev. Borgia Aubespin, S.V.D. will officiate at the Mass of Christian burial.
Mrs. Douresseau, being a young widow, raised five children and saw them to college. She was devoted caregiver to her husband and in laws for many years.
Mrs. Douresseau is survived by her children, Leroy Douresseaux of Mallet, LA, Tracy Guillory (David) of Mansfield, TX, Laura Douresseaux (P Marc Collins) future son-in-law of New Orleans, LA and Elizabeth Martel of Lake Charles, LA; two grandchildren, Joey Guillory of Mansfield, TX and Anna Douresseaux of Lake Charles, LA; two nieces, Patricia Semien of Rayne, LA and Sarah Semien of Opelousas, LA; four nephews, Donald Semien (Cynthia), James Semien (Samantha), Wilson Semien, Jr., Keith Semien all of Church Point, LA.
Mrs. Douresseau was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Douresseau; a daughter, Anna Douresseaux; parents, Abraham & Laura Citizen Semien; two brothers, Wilson and Willie Semien; two sisters-in-law, Earline Semien and LouAnna Semien.
Visiting hours will be observed from 8:30 am to 11:00 am Friday, July 7, 2017 at St. Ann Catholic Church.
