EUNICE~It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Maxie F Smith announces her passing on Thursday, November 8th, 2018 at the age of 74.
Maxie was a loving wife, mother of three children, four grand children and one great grandchild. She loved gardening, sewing, cooking for her family and friends and also enjoyed traveling often with her husband, Tim. She was a very popular cosmetologist for many years in Eunice. She had a contagious smile and never met a stranger.
Maxie is survived by her beloved husband of fifty-eight years, Tim Smith; her daughter Libby Yates and husband Corky; her daughter Holly Thibodeaux and husband Kevin and their children, Sydney and Allison. She is also survived by her son Stanley Smith and his wife Dreama and their children Ashton and Meagan and Meagan’s son, James, as well as her siblings, Aubrey Fontenot, Jr., Sandra Deshotels, and Connie Wallace.
She is preceded in death by her parents Aubrey P. Fontenot Sr. and Mae Fontenot.
Memorial services will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice at 11am on Friday, November 23rd with visitation beginning at 9am.
Burial will be at Miller Cemetery immediately following services.
