Melvin Darbonne passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at the age of 91. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 13, 2021 at Quirk & Son Funeral Home of Eunice with Deacon Gary Gaudin officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery.
At the request of family, visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Sunday, September 12, 2021 with a rosary at 6 p.m. by Deacon Gary Gaudin. Visitation will resume on Monday at 8 a.m. until time of Services.
Melvin is survived by his niece and caretaker, Pauline Langley; one step-son, Lawrence Clyde Cart, Jr.; four grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, as well as great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Darbonne and Bernadette Bellow; companion, Dolores Courville; one daughter, Loretta Tauzier; six brothers, Delton Darbonne, Elton Darbonne, Linus Darbonne, Lawrence Darbonne, Howard Darbonne, Ellius Darbonne; two sisters, Joycie Guidry, Agnes Thibodeaux.
