SCOTT ~ A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 20, 2017 in Sts. Peter and Paul Church - Scott for Mildred Olivier DeSpain, 89, who passed away on January 17, 2017.

Reverend Mark Derise, will be Celebrant of the Mass.

Burial will take place in Sts. Peter and Paul Mausoleum.

Mildred, a resident of Scott, was the daughter of the late Wilton Olivier and the former Inez Melancon.

Mildred was very active in the art community. She was a water color artist and teacher well into her 80’s.

She is survived by two daughters, Joanna Jacobus of Dallas, TX and Candice Soileau and husband, Craig of Eunice; five sons, William E. DeSpain, Jr., of Scott; Tommy L. DeSpain and wife Sarah of Pensacola, FL, Kenneth DeSpain and wife, Donna of Duson, Cliff DeSpain and wife, Angie of Salisbury, NC and Terry
DeSpain of Scott; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; five sisters, Lois Resweber, Joyce Moulis, Carolyn Pawloski, Joann Beyt and Peggy Mills and one brother, Donald Olivier.

She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse, William E. DeSpain, Sr. and one sister, Betty LeBlanc.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Scott on Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Friday, January 20, 2017 from 8:00 am until time of service. A rosary will be recited on Thursday evening at 6:30 pm.

The family would like to thank the staff at Oak Lane Wellness and Rehab and Jena Miller with Heart of Hospice for their compassionate care.
