EUNICE–Private Funeral services for Mona Faye Mitchell, 68, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Greater True Light Baptist Church in Eunicewith the public visitation observed from 8 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
On Tuesday, September 7, 2021, the Angels of the Lord escorted Mona from her earthly abode to her heavenly home.
Filled with empty wells of loneliness will be her husband Ernest Mitchell, Jr. of Eunice; two daughters Bridgette Thierry of Houston, Texas and Bernette Tolston of Slidell, two step-daughters Arianna Douglas and Bethany Higginbotham of Church Point; five step-sons Gary, Andre, and Ernest Mitchell, III all of Eunice, Gregory Mitchell of Houston, Texas and Elliot Mitchell of Crowley, four sisters Beryl Brown of Eunice, Veronica Woodard of Lake Charles, and Rita Frazier and Emma Doyle, both of Port Arthur, Texas; three grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lester and Lessie Doyle, one brother Phillip Doyle; and one sister Bessie Gordon.
Owens-Thomas Funeral Home of Eunice is in charge of arrangements.
