Lafayette – Nicholas Errol Rheams, 35, passed away on August 22, 2020 at his home in Lafayette.
Nicholas “Nick” was born on May 9, 1985 to Everett E. Rheams of Eunice, and Yvonne D. Rheams of Maryville, Tennessee.
A celebration of life service will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2020, at White Dove Lafayette, located at 1320 Fortune Road, Youngsville. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. and there will be lunch following the service.
In pursuit of a lifelong commitment to service, Nick served honorably in the Marine Corps before following in his dad’s footsteps by working in the Louisiana oil fields.
He loved to hike in Tennessee, fish in Louisiana, and took great pride in the construction and beautification of homes in South Louisiana.
Nick overcame life’s obstacles with grace and patience which is a testament to his tenacity and perseverance. He will be greatly missed.
He was loved by many friends and family to whom he presented a kind-hearted disposition and caring nature. He would give the shirt off his back for complete strangers and close family alike.
Nick is survived by his parents, his sister, Yvette R. Shackelford, nephew, Gunnar T. Shackelford, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends whom he loved dearly.
