BASILE~It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ray W. Daigle announces his passing on Monday, July 03, 2017 at the Acadian Medical Center in Eunice with his loving family by his side. He was 95. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, July 05, 2017 at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in the St. Augustine Mausoleum with Father Keenan Brown Celebrant.
Ray proudly served his country in the United States Army in World War II where he received the EAMET ribbon, victory medal and good conduct medal. He worked many years in the oilfield where he retired from. Ray loved his small family and enjoyed sharing his life with them as well as with his many friends which most of them has passed but his home was always open to family and friends. His greatest joy in life was his family, he was a loving father to two daughters, Sheila Vidrine and husband, Jimmy of Carencro and Pam Fruge and husband, Cleveland of Eunice; a wonderful grandfather to four grandchildren, Kaela Boyer and husband, Anthony of Carencro, Nikki Johnson and husband, Dave of Eunice, Cory Vidrine and wife, Amber of Carencro and Ashley Sonnier and husband, Jason of Basile; a very proud great grandfather to nine grandchildren, Chaz, Bailey, Gracie, Zach, Andre', Luc, Julee, John-Wesley, Charlie and Sammy; as well as extended family and friends. Ray will be loved and remembered in our hearts forever.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lorena M. Daigle and his parents, Enoch and Eida Daigle; his sisters, Rosa Bell Sams and Bernice Shreve.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Basile on Wednesday, July 05, 2017 from 8:30 am until time of services.
