MAMOU-Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Mamou on Wednesday, January 15, for Rod Fontenot, 56, who passed away on January 12, 2019 in Mamou, LA. Bro. Wayne Holston will conduct the service.
Burial will take place in the Ortego Cemetery.
Rod Fontenot was a life-long resident of Mamou, LA. He was born on August 16, 1963 to his parents James B. Fontenot and Sylvia Rollins Fontenot. He was a hard worker. Rod worked as a supervisor for Kross Kut. He enjoyed teaching his trade to those younger than himself. Rod was always willing to help anyone who was in need. He had a great respect for the elderly. Rod enjoyed life. He especially loved fishing and hunting. He will be loved and missed by everyone’s life who he touched.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Fontenot; sons, Derrick Fontenot and Ryan Fontenot; step-daughter, Dwana Boutte; brothers, Carl Fontenot and wife, Cindy, George Fontenot and wife, Katina, and Bryan Fontenot and wife, Brandy; grandchildren, Shiana, Alaina, Cain, and Matthew; nieces and nephews, Megan, Tanner, Symone’, Evie, Adyson, Kross, Jacob, Tori, and Nicky.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James B. Fontenot and Sylvia Rollins Fontenot.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Mamou on Tuesday, January 14 from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The visitation will continue Wednesday at 8:00 AM until time of service.
