RAYNE - A Masonic Funeral Service for Roy Albert Oathoudt Jr., 77, of Rayne, was held on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019, at 2 p.m. in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel, Rayne.
In keeping with Mr. Oathoudt’s wishes, his earthly remains were cremated following the service and inurned in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery No. 2 Mausoleum, Rayne.
Visitation was observed on Tuesday, Feb. 12, from 10 a.m. until service time in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel, Rayne.
Mr. Oathoudt passed away on Friday, Feb. 8, in a Houston, TX hospital.
A native of Denver, Colorado, Mr. Oathoudt proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 243 for many years. Mr. Oathoudt was a self-employed carpenter and former owner and operator of Roy’s Mobile Home Services in Vidor, Texas.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Audrey Menard Oathoudt of Rayne; sons, Jimmy Oathoudt of Bridge City, Texas, Glen Carriere and wife Mary Ann of Crowley, and Todd Carriere and wife Becky of Vidor, Texas; daughters, Tammy Vance Scott and husband Gary of Keystone Heights, Florida, and Karen Witaker and husband Perry of Jasper, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy Albert Oathoudt Sr. and Helen Sabold Oathoudt; brother, Thomas Oathoudt; and son-in-law, Buddy Vance.
