EUNICE-The family and friends of Ruby S. Young are mourning the loss of their loved one who passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Eunice Manor Nursing Home at the age of 89.
A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Pastor Terrell Reed officiating.
Ruby was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend and she will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her especially her sons, Wendell B. Young and wife, Margaret of Eunice and Dwayne K. Young of Baton Rouge; her daughter, Saundra Y. Frey of Eunice; her sister, Mary Guillory and husband, Harry of Eunice; sister-in-law, Ethel Smith of Eunice; six grandchildren, Linzay Young , Jennifer Brunet, Meghann Young, Patrick Frey, Mia Frey, and Jason Young; five great grandchildren, Edith Young, Henri Young, Ruby Brunet, Charlie Brunet, and Colton Marcantel; as well as extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gil B. Young; parents, Willie and Aline Darbonne Smith; and siblings, Calvin Smith, Burkman Smith, Dorothy Troha, and Patsy Guillory.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, December 13th from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again on Saturday, December 14th from 8:00 am until time of services.
