EUNICE~It is with great sadness that the family of Russell Allen Stockwell, Sr. announces his passing on Tuesday, July 04, 2017 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family at the age of 90.
A Masonic Service will be held at 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 06, 2017 at Ardoin's Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, July 07, 2017 at the Protestant Cemetery in Basile with Rev. Daniel Husak officiating.
Russell served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corp during World War II. He retired from his company Stochco Construction in Eunice. He was a Mason for 69 years, a Shriner as well as a Boy Scout leader for more than 40 years. He was an avid fisherman but most of all he was a loving father, brother, grandfather and friend who loved spending time with his family and friends and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him. Left to cherish his memory is his two sons, Russell "Dinky" Stockwell and wife, Donna Kay of Basile and Barry Jay Stockwell of Lake Buena Vista, FL; his significant other, Monty Stouts of Eunice; his brother, Winsor "Nookie" Stockwell and wife, Coleen of Basile; his two grandchildren, Anne Stockwell and Laura Hebert; five great grandchildren, Eli, Cora, Kye, Carson and Brinley Kate; as well as extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Blackwell Stockwell; parents, LeRoy and Vena Clark Stockwell.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Thursday, July 06, 2017 from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm.
