Funeral services for Mr. Russell Edwards Sr., 87, will be held on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018, at 11 A. M. at St. Mathilda C. C. in Eunice, LA. Visitation will be observed from 8:00 A. M. – 11 A. M. in Bishop Ceasar Hall. Burial will be in St. Mathilda C. C. Cemetery. Father Darren Eldridge will officiate the funeral mass.
On Saturday, Dec., 8, 2018, the Angels of the Lord descended on the residence of Russell and escorted him to his eternal home.
Cherishing his memory will be his devoted wife: Charlotte A. Edwards of Kinder, LA; five daughters: Carolyn Marie Edwards of Eunice, LA, Leona Guillory Houston, TX, Michelle (Kenneth) Hilliard of Lake Charles, LA and Crystal Preatto and Angela Carter both of Kinder, LA; four sons: Calvin (Sharon) Edwards of Poteau, OK, Roy (Chasity) Edwards of Kinder, LA and Leonce and Paul Edwards both of Eunice, LA; two sisters: Dorothy Thomas of Ville Platte, LA and Mercy (Forist) David of Aims, TX; two brothers: Jimmy (Lee) Edwards of Eunice, LA and Dennis Edwards of Ville Platte, LA; 50 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Donnis and Eluina Edwards; and two sons: Russell Edwards, Jr. and Michael Edwards.
Owens-Thomas Funeral Home of Eunice is in charge of arrangements.
