EUNICE~It is with heavy hearts that the family of Shelton P. Boone announces his passing on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Oaklane Wellness and Rehab Center at the age of 90.
A Celebration of life was held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Entombment followed in the St. Paul Mausoleum with Deacon Gary Gaudin officiating.
Shelton was a United States Navy veteran who served in World War II. He was a member of the American Legion and the 40 & 8. He was also a lifelong member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and was a Leader and District Commander in Boy Scouts. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him, especially his son, Norman Boone and wife, Susan of Baton Rouge; sister, Irene Reed of Eunice; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Lou Boone; son, Sherwin Boone; parents, Walter and Pauline Richard Boone; brother, Herbert Boone; and sisters, Ina Boone, Mable Bertrand, and Belle Marcantel.
At the request of the family, visitation was held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Tuesday, December 19th from 11:00 am until time of services. Deacon Gary Gaudin recited a Rosary at 1:00 pm
