Sidney “Gilbert” Bertrand

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we
announce the loss of our loved one, Sidney “Gilbert” Bertrand who
passed away, on Friday, June 16, 2023 at Oak Lane Nursing Home.
He was 76.
A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in
Eunice at 1:00 pm on Monday, June 19, 2023 with burial to follow at
Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Father William Schambough will officiate.
Gilbert was born on May 11, 1947, to Hosea and Elta Duplechain
Bertrand who preceded his death. Gilbert was a special son, brother
and uncle who enjoyed watching Elvis Presley movies and old
westerns.
Gilbert will be dearly missed by his three nephews, Darrell Guillory
and wife, Patti of Lafayette, Farrell “Teeny” Guillory and wife, Pam of
Eunice and Terrell “Tootie” Guillory and wife Rachel of Lake Charles;
seven great nieces and nephews, Kristyn Fuselier and husband,
Brian, Phillip Guillory and wife, Lacy, Jon Seth Guillory and wife
Kasey, Jennifer Guillory, Jamie Foreman and husband Jonathan
Foreman, Alex Guillory, and Seth Guillory. He is preceded in death by
his beloved parents and his beloved sister Juanita Guillory, brother in
law Francis Roger Guillory and great nephew Noah Guillory.
The family would like to thank Liberty Six Community Homes and
Oak Lane Nursing Home for caring for Gilbert for the past 30 plus
years.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral
Home in Eunice on Monday, June 19th from 9:00 am until time of
service. Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Eunice is in charge of
arrangements.
