IOTA~It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Steffan Joseph Roy announces his passing on Sunday, July 07, 2019 at the Lafayette General Hospital at the age of 26. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:30 pm on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery with Father Jude Thierry Celebrant.
Steffan was described as a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him. He loved hunting and fishing but what he loved most was spending time with his family and friends. His memories will be treasured by his mother, Tina C. Roy of Iota; his father, Randy Roy of Iota; his maternal grandparents, Charles and Marlene Leger of Iota; paternal grandmother, Gail Deshotel of Egan; his two sisters, Erin Louise Leger of Youngsville and Angelle Rene' Roy of Iota; his uncles and aunts, Charles Leger, Jr and wife, Cindy of Duson, Donavan Leger and wife, Theresa of Westlake, Marion Klumpp and husband, Keith of Iota, Christopher Roy of Egan, Danny Roy and wife, Mel of Duson, Michelle Primeaux and husband, Keith of Morse; niece, Addaley Comeaux and nephew, Paul Joseph Roy.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Joe-Boy Roy; uncle, Richard Paul Roy and aunt, Donna Faye Cormier
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Iota on Wednesday, July 10th from 1:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Thursday, July 11th from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Robbie Leger will recite a Rosary at 7:00 pm on Wednesday.
