Body

Sudie Francis Cooper Thibodeaux, 78, entered her heavenly home on October 12, 2021, in Baton Rouge, LA, while in the arms of her children and surrounded by loved ones.
Sudie was born to Vilous Spurgeon Cooper and Roberta Wade Cooper on February 5, 1943, and raised in Morton, MS. After graduating from Morton High School, she earned her Bachelor’s degree from Mississippi College, Clinton, MS. Excelling at office management and bookkeeping, she worked at a wide range of businesses in Louisiana and Mississippi and finally retiring from the Mississippi Department of Employment Security in 2014.
After college, Sudie met Joseph Horace Thibodeaux, Sr. through mutual friends, married and moved to Louisiana where she raised her family of 3 children and 2 stepchildren. Later in life, she married Barry Kreuger. They eventually returned to her family property in Morton to help care for her mother. Sudie spent her last few years in Baton Rouge so she could be closer to her children.
Kind, patient, loving and selfless, Sudie was always putting others before herself. Her children describe her as “the sweetest momma you can ever hope for, who put God and family above everything else.” She was known for her “love pats”, and all her children and grandchildren have learned to carry on her display of love. Sure enough, if you sat down beside her, you were guaranteed to be the recipient of those cherished “love pats”.
In addition to her love of family, she enjoyed many interests during her earlier years including crafting, painting, sewing things for her family, playing the piano, and singing in the church choir. She had a servant’s heart, volunteering in many activities for her children and church. She was a good example of a Godly woman and a loving parent for her children.
She is survived by her husband Barry Kreuger and fur baby Buddy; her three children: Sandra Thibodeaux Sanders and husband William Jr. of Baton Rouge, LA, Joseph Horace Thibodeaux, Jr. of Baton Rouge, LA, Renee Thibodeaux Tate and husband Michael of Lake St. Louis, MO; two step children: Phyllis Thibodeaux Holmes of Clarks, LA, Steven Thibodeaux and wife Stacey of Ville Platte, LA; six grandchildren: Phillip Lafleur and wife Desiree, Ashley Lafleur, Caleb Thibodeaux and fiancé Mica Jimenez, Lauren Thibodeaux, Seth Tate, Sarah Tate; six step grandchildren: Brandon Holmes, Jonathan Holmes, Abigail Goss, Courtney Floyd, Brittany Thibodeaux, Sydney Thibodeaux; one great-grandchild: Makai Thibodeaux; eleven step great-grandchildren; two sisters: Minnie Jean Risher and husband Charles of Forest, MS and Joye Warner of Morton, MS; two nieces: Kim Risher Harrison and Janet Risher Reeves among numerous other nieces and nephews; her first husband and the father of their 3 children, Joseph Horace Thibodeaux, Sr.
