EUNICE – It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Tommy Fontenot announces his death on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at the age of 77.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 14, 2020 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery with Father Hampton Davis, Celebrant and Father Henry Broussard and Father Wayne Duet, Concelebrants.
Tommy was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting. He also loved to travel with his wife, cook, and entertain for family and friends. Most of all, Tommy enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of fifty-seven years, Sharon Fontenot of Eunice; son, Tommy Fontenot, Jr. and wife, Gwen of Eunice; daughters, Angelle Manuel and husband, Hayward of Eunice, and Suzanne Mayer and companion, Vern Johnson of Prairieville; twelve grandchildren, Andre, Jacob, and Jared Vige, Jeff and Rhett Manuel, Brittany Roser, Mallory Achord, Taylor Mayer, Lane Fontenot, Sarah Fontenot, Chris Prudhomme, and Austin Fontenot; thirteen great grandchildren; as well as extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his son, Randy Fontenot; and parents, Selden and Ludy Jarona Fontenot.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Sunday, December 13 from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m., and again on Monday, December 14 from 8 a.m. until time of services. Deacon Chuck Ortego will recite a Rosary Sunday evening at 6 p.m.
