Velma Leger Doucet passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the age of 86. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at 2:00 PM am at St Thomas More Catholic Church with Father Austin Leger celebrant and Father Clinton Sensat co-celebrant. Burial will follow in St Paul Cemetery.
At the request of family, visitation will be held on Monday, February 10, 2020 from 3:00 PM until 10:00 PM at Quirk and Son Funeral Home of Eunice with a Rosary being recited at 6:00 PM by Father Austin Leger. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at 8:00 AM until time of Services.
Velma is survived by three sons, Darrel Doucet, Duane Doucet and wife Vicki, Brian Doucet and wife Brandi; one daughter, Charlene Fontenot and husband Darryel “Sparkplug” Fontenot; one brother, Father Austin Leger; one sister, Orphise Young; four grandchildren, David Soileau, Amanda Soileau Johnson, Brendan Doucet, Cade Fontenot; five great grandchildren, George Mohrman and wife Dusty, Alanna Johnson, Robert Johnson, Derek Perkins, Shane Perkins; four great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Zannie and Eve Thibodeaux Leger; her husband, Sidney Doucet; two brothers, Nolton Leger, Leonce Leger; two sisters, Thelma Macip, Leona Jane Leger.
