EUNICE~It is with great sadness that the family of Vernice Babineaux announces her passing on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Savoy Care Center in Mamou at the age of 82.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Entombment will follow in the St. Paul Mausoleum with Msgr. Robert Romero Celebrant.
Vernice was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family. She was a very kind and loving woman and spending time with her family and friends brought a great deal of joy to her life.
She was a member of the St. Anthony Ladies Altar Society. She loved fishing, camping and crocheting.
A loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend she will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her especially her two sons, Kenneth Ray Fontenot and wife, Debbie of Perchville and Timothy Wayne Babineaux and wife, Sable of Eunice; a sister, Wilda Burleigh and husband, Sterling of Ville Platte.
She was a proud grandmother to four grandkids, Kory Fontenot and wife, Misty, Katy Fontenot, Amanda Babineaux and Crystal LaFosse and husband, Robert; three great grandchildren, Payton Fontenot, Grayson and Madison LaFosse; as well as extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her grandson, Kody Fontenot and her parents, Mayo and Odille Fontenot Guillory.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Tuesday, March 12th from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm and again on Wednesday, March 13th from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Gary Gaudin will recite a Rosary at 6:00 pm on Tuesday.
