13th annual Taster's Choice benefits Eunice Community Health Clinic

The 13th annual Eunice Community Health Center’s biggest fundraiser, the Taster’s Choice, was held Wednesday evening inside the Mumphrey Center at LSUE.
Hundreds of people attended and got to enjoy tasting different foods from different food categories. Some of the samplings were pork and sausage jambalaya, banana cake, meat loaf with gravy, mashed potatoes, Laura Loaf (a deep fried bread pudding), sweet potato casserole, chicken salad, rabbit sauce, smoked duck gumbo, chocolate mousse cupcakes with mascarpone icing topped with a chocolate chip cannoli, After the Boil Soup, smoked boudin stuffed bread roll, potato sausage soup, Mardi Gras Mambo bar, Gouda cheese grits topped with shrimp and tasso with a Cajun cream sauce, alligator chili, King cake, Cajun potatoes, tamales, grits and griades, mini pineapple upside down bundt cakes, banana pudding, peanut butter and jelly mini cupcakes, crawfish potatoes and much more.
The cooking categories included Professional and Amateur divisions with dishes entered as general entree, seafood, wild game and desserts. People were able to vote on their favorite food item from designated categories, and winners were announced later in the evening.
Geno Delafose & the French Rockin Boogie provided entertainment. A live auction was also held.
Tickets for the event were $40 per person in advance and were also available at the door for $40 per person.
There were 27 cooking teams for the event.
