4th annual Eunice Community Garden Christmas Festival

The fourth annual Eunice Community Community Garden Christmas Festival was held from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday at the garden grounds.
Hundreds of families with children attended the free festive event. Strings of twinkling lights, and huge ornaments were featured on the grounds of the garden.
There were about 22 booths manned by volunteers from local businesses, clubs and organizations. The Eunice Public Library had free books to give away and a kids Christmas ornament craft. The Bulb & Blossom Garden Club had a recyclable bin and an Acadiana Native Plant Project. The project was a purple and yellow coneflower seed ball. The club had it available in a take home cup and they also had the seed in a container where kids could make their own seed ball to bring home and plant.
There was kids face painting. Other booths had games, activities, all designed for kids to do. Kids brought home prizes from each booth and enjoyed many different games and activities, such as a bean bag toss game, and a Spin the Wheel for prizes game.
Santa Claus traveled to the Christmas Festival by an Air Vac Life Team helicopter. Children had an opportunity to see Santa sit in the helicopter. Santa was also available for kids at the grounds. He sat in his big chair and kids had the opportunity to tell him their Christmas wishes.
Refreshments was served to the public. There was gumbo, hot chocolate, hot dogs, and soft drinks.
The LSUE Lady Bengals softball members volunteered their time by directing public parking.
