There was an In Honor & Remembrance 911 ceremony held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Circle Park in Eunice.
Every year, the Woodmen Life members along with the VFW Post 8971, American Legion Post 129, and DAV Chapter 19 organize the annual In Honor and Remembrance ceremonies giving members, family and friends a chance to grieve over the lives lost that tragic day on Sept. 11, 2001 and to pay respect to the heroes who responded.
Ceremonies are held every year on Sept. 11 and have evolved into a public forum to thank first responders, including local fire fighters, police officers, emergency medical technicians and members of the military.
