The City of Eunice held its first ever Eunice Main Street “Sip and Stroll,” event Saturday from 2 until 6 p.m.
Many people were able to enjoy festive “sips” provided by Uncorked and Eunice’s local restaurants and bars as they strolled up and down South and North 2nd Street. They were able to visit downtown Eunice merchants as their shops were open, as well as over 25 “Pop Ups shops” of their favorite stores featured along downtown Second Street.
Along downtown 2nd Street were a total of 11 sipping stations where one was able to taste a variety, at each table, fine wines, bourbons, Abita beers, whiskeys, vodkas, rums, cocktails and much more.
Tickets were purchased and tickets allowed the person a passport with “sipping” locations, a souvenir cup, and one free prize ticket to enter to win a fabulous “Love Where You Live” package. This grand prize, worth over $2,500, included goodies and gift certificates to many merchants of Eunice. And for every $20 one spent with participating merchants, one earned extra chances to win.
This event was a fundraiser for the Eunice Main Street Association. Proceeds will go to fund beautification projects and events in Eunice. Alicia Smith Mire is director of the Eunice Tourism.
