The superintendent’s position was advertised with a salary range of $130,000 to $160,000, but negotiable.
The five candidates were Batiste, Green, Paul Nelson, Michael Robinson Jr. and Shirley Thibodeaux.
On the first ballot with all five candidates, Baptiste received 13 votes, Nelson 6, Green, 4, and Thibodeaux, 3. Robinson did not receive any votes.
In the next vote, Green received 7 votes and Nelson got 6.
