Winning the title of Miss Eunice during Saturday evening’s contest is Claire Durapau. Durapau. Durapau, 20, is a junior at LSUE, and the daughter of Keith and Monica Durapau.
Wearing the new crown as Teen Miss Eunice is Laura Kate Miller. Miller, 15, is a sophomore at St. Edmund High, and the daughter of Lee and Aimee Miller.
The pageant was held at the Northwest Community Center with Randy Reed, Eunice City Councilman, as the emcee.

Area firefighters fought a timber fire on about 80 acres off La. 358 and Houston Richard Road on Thursday. About 20 firefighers and at least half dozen vehicles were involved in fighting the fire in 100-plus heat. Fire District 3 Capt. Adam Roberie, at the scene, said firefighters had been at the site on and off since Monday. There were no injuries from the fire. No structure were involved. The site of the fire is about 15 miles east of Eunice and 6.5 miles north of Church Point.
